Captured on the historic grounds of the former Soesterberg Air Base, this shoot brings together one of Yamaha's most advanced motorcycles and a location that perfectly reflects its character. Long stretches of concrete, military bunkers and open skies create an environment where performance, precision and purpose take centre stage.

Owned by Roy, founder of Bikerwash.com, this Yamaha R1M represents more than just a high-performance motorcycle. It reflects a genuine passion for motorcycling and an appreciation for machines engineered without compromise. Known for helping riders keep their motorcycles in pristine condition, Roy understands that ownership goes beyond riding alone. It's about pride, attention to detail and preserving the machines that inspire us.

The R1M itself needs little introduction. Drawing directly from Yamaha's racing programme, it combines advanced electronics, lightweight carbon fibre bodywork and premium suspension components to create a motorcycle that feels equally at home on the road as it does on the circuit.

Visually, the machine stands apart. Deep carbon textures, sharp bodywork and subtle white accents contrast beautifully against the industrial concrete structures of Soesterberg. Combined with the signature gold Öhlins suspension, every element of the motorcycle serves both form and function.

Throughout this session, the location became an extension of the bike itself. The abandoned bunkers, weathered surfaces and vast runway spaces reinforce the sense of purpose that defines the R1M. Nothing feels excessive. Nothing feels unnecessary. Every detail exists for a reason.
